The groundbreaking ceremony for a new world-class park in Warsaw, Poland, is set to take place on July 20-21.

Adventure World Warsaw Park and Resort will become the country’s first major theme park with more than 25 key attractions.

It will be divided into five distinct zones and also include a waterpark, two hotels and an entertainment area including cinemas and restaurants.

Located in the town of Grodzisk Mazowiecki, 30km south-west of Warsaw, Adventure World Warsaw is expected to be complete by 2014.

An international consortium of private and institutional investors are putting €620m (US$764m) into the project, which is forecast to attract around two million visitors per year from Poland’s 38.5 million population and those of neighbouring countries.

Major companies involved in the design, planning, ride design and theming include Vekoma Rides Manufacturing and Jora Vision.
