The British seaside amusement park Dreamland, Margate, opened two of nine new attractions over the first weekend of July.

Pendulum, a Zamperla Discovery – pictured above – is an exhilarating swinging pendulum ride featuring a rotating ring of 16 seats. Pinball X is a Twister Coaster, also by Zamperla, with orange track and a turquoise support structure. It replaces a spinning coaster previously supplied by a travelling showman.

“These two new rides have delighted visitors so far!” enthuses Dreamland chief operating officer, Steve Gotkine. “Dreamland has a packed line-up of new ride openings, entertainment and festival fun planned for the summer. With a rich variety of music, circus, outdoor cinema, character appearances, crazy golf and even a dog show coming up, we will give people a reason to visit time and time again!”

Pinball X’s retro theme is in keeping with the vintage flavour the Kent coastal park has embraced since its relaunched with a collection of refurbished rides in 2015. This season, however, Dreamland has a new operating company, which is set to receive eight brand new attractions from Zamperla.

Also part of the package are a drop tower called Dreamland Drop, Air Force (Air Race), Up Up & Away (Samba Balloon), Soaring Seagulls (Magic Bikes), Rock the Boat (Rockin’ Tug) and one of the Italian manufactuer’s Endeavor rides, which has yet to be named.

In addition to the above, Dreamland has also added the Vintage Caterpillar to its classic ride line-up for 2018, following an extensive overhaul by Littleboy’s Vintage Restorations. Dating back to 1933, the attraction has also spent time in the British seaside resorts of Great Yarmouth and New Brighton, as well as London’s Battersea Park.
