Determined to retain its title as Florida’s “coaster capital,” Busch Gardens Tampa is erecting two thrilling new rollercoasters, one of which is opening this spring.

The 335-acre African-themed animal theme park located in Florida’s city of Tampa, is planning to open a Tigris launched steel coaster in the forthcoming weeks.

The Tigris will be tallest launch coaster in Florida and will catapult thrill-seekers through a nail-biting track of loops and twists in a forward and backward motion. Riders will be plunged into breath-taking drops and a 150-foot skyward surge, at speeds reaching a dizzy 60mph.

This huge steel structure comprises of more than 1,800 feet of track and is designed to resonate the speed, thrill and agility of a tiger, hence its name – the Tigris.

The rollercoaster is being built in the Stanleyville area of the park next to the Jungula section, which is home to Busch Gardens Tampa’s endangered Bengal tigers.

The ride has been constructed by Premier Rides, Maryland-based suppliers of thrilling attractions for theme parks and amusements sites.

Not content on bringing just one new rollercoaster to the park, Busch Gardens Tampa are preparing to introduce another exhilarating new ride to its Gwazi area in 2020.
