Hong Kong Disneyland Resort will officially begin its 15th anniversary celebrations on November 21, 2020, with the opening of the reimagined ‘Castle of Magical Dreams.’

The Castle of Magical Dreams has been inspired by 13 stories centred on Disney’s much-loved queens and princesses. The towers and spires of the castle will be adorned in patterns, colours and ornamentation to reflect the different stories and characters.

This is the first time in the history of Disney that one of its castles has undergone such a grand transformation.

To mark the opening of the reimaged castle, guests at Hong Kong Disneyland can visit the ‘Building a Dream: The Magic Behind a Disney Castle’ exhibition. The show invites guests to embark on a visual journey that delves into the magic of the castle and the creativity behind the Walt Disney Imagineering process of transforming the castle.

In the ‘Glimpse into the Magic’ tour, guests will explore the new-look castle whilst being guided by an audio narration from Karena Lam, a local actress and singer who is a huge Disney fan.

Speaking about the tour, Lam said: “It’s a very immersive tour which allows guests to appreciate the architectural designs of the towers, turrets, domes, spires and finials, and see how their various colours, icons, patterns, and cultural features were inspired by the Princesses and Queens.”

November 21 will also see the resort’s festive event ‘A Disney Christmas’ kick-off.
