Previously known as Project Exodus, Thorpe Park and Merlin Entertainments announced that the ride will be known as Hyperia.

The name derives from the hyper coaster category for rides over 200ft. and Hyperia will become the UK’s tallest roller coaster topping out at 236ft.

The ride will also take another record for being the fastest as it will hit speeds of 80mph.

The attraction is being manufactured by Mack Rides and is a landmark project for them as it will be the world’s tallest Mack Rides attraction.

Currently, the ride is in its initial stages of construction with trucks delivering various parts of stanchions and structures to Thorpe Park as the build of the UK’s tallest roller coaster commences.

Hyperia will have a colour scheme of gold and white and feature a range of exciting elements from a splashdown, airtime thrills and a unique feeling of weightlessness found on these shores.
