Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is acknowledging the history of women in space by hosting a month-long list of events in recognition.

Throughout the month of March, Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex will host Astronaut Scholarship Foundation scholars from across the country.

“These trailblazing women will share their stories and their work as guests get a first-hand account of the passion that drives these women, and their contributions to the space industry,” commented Kennedy Space Centre.

Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex will have female visiting astronauts featured throughout the month. Guests can meet veteran NASA astronauts Heidi Piper, Julie Payette, Wendy Lawrence and Susan Kilrain at an Astronaut Encounter or Chat with an Astronaut event.

Visitors can also enjoy exhibits throughout the visitor complex that feature women who have made an impact on the space industry.

In Heroes and Legends, a new Trailblazers exhibit will highlight female astronauts including Sally Ride, Ellen Ochoa, Kalpana Chawia, Mae Jemison and Nicole Mann.

Meanwhile, the Astronaut Hall of Fame features inducted astronauts including Sally Ride, Kathryn Thornton, Susan Helms, Bonnie Dunbar, Eileen Collins, Shannon Lucid, Rhea Seddon, Janet Kavandi, Ellen Ochoa, and Sandra Magnus.

And in Space Shuttle Atlantis, guests can see the shuttle which carried trailblazing female astronauts like Mary Cleave, Shannon Matilda Wells Lucid, and Pamela Melroy, among others, to space.
