Canada’s Wonderland is counting down the days until its season premiere on 8 May.

The park’s centrepiece new attraction will be its brand new roller coaster, ‘AlpenFury.’

Onboard AlpenFury, riders will be propelled by a double-launch, with one propelling riders into Wonder Mountain, and another that blasts the train out the summit to 50 metres into the sky.

The cutting-edge coaster will traverse 1,000 metres across the park, reaching a top speed of 115 km/h. AlpenFury will feature nine thrilling inversions – making it the most of any launch coaster in the world.

“We’re excited to welcome guests back through the gate and usher in another season of thrills and family fun,” said Phil Liggett, general manager.

“AlpenFury will be a great addition to our coaster line-up, providing a unique thrill experience you won’t find anywhere else. Our team is committed to ensuring guests have a great visit and we’re here to help them create memories that last a lifetime.”

Canada’s Wonderland will open its doors early on 26 April, exclusively for season passholders at the Passholder Preview event before the park opens to the general public.

More festivities await guests this season with the park’s Splash Works Opening Weekend coming on 24 and 25 May. “Jump back into poolside fun at the 20-acre water park featuring Canada’s largest outdoor wave pool, 18 water attractions, exhilarating cliff jumping, water playgrounds, kiddie slides and a Lazy River,” states the park.

There will be also be firework events happening throughout the season as part of the Long Weekend Fireworks show. Taking place on the weekends of 18 May, 30 June, 3 Aug and 31 Aug, guests will be treated to more than 6,000 colourful fireworks choreographed to a special soundtrack.

In addition, Canada’s Wonderland will host a Food & Wine Festival between 6-22 June every Friday to Sunday. Returning for its second year, this event features a wide assortment of exceptional wines from around the world and specially prepared culinary delights.
