The first-ever Coco-themed ride at Disneyland Resort is scheduled to open in Disney California during the 2027 and 2028 season.
Walt Disney Imagineering has green-lit plans to commence construction on the attraction, which is inspired by Pixar’s 2017 animated film.
The plans confirm the ride’s entrance will be located between Pixar Pier and Paradise Gardens. Concept art released earlier this month shows the ride’s entrance replacing the Pixar Pier parade gate.
The “Coco” ride will be situated area where there is currently a backstage access road connecting to Disneyland Drive.
According to Anaheim’s Public Works department, construction will consist of enhancements to the public right-of-way along Disneyland Drive and Katella Avenue. Plans include adjustments to sidewalks, curbs, planters, landscaping, irrigation systems and perimeter fencing.
Disney announced the “Coco” ride at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event last August. Guests will join Miguel and other characters from the film on a trip to the Land of the Dead.
