IAAPA Expo Europe 2025 officially opened today at Fira Barcelona Gran Via, one of Europe’s largest exhibition venues. The event is set to welcome more than 17,000 professionals from theme parks, water parks, family entertainment centers, museums, resorts, and zoos worldwide.
The opening featured the joyful Sardana dance of Catalonia, performed in traditional attire to symbolize unity and community, offering an unforgettable welcome to attendees. Barcelona — a city renowned for creativity, innovation, and tourism — provided the perfect backdrop as IAAPA gathered industry leaders to exchange ideas and celebrate culture.
This year’s Expo brings together over 700 exhibitors and 60 educational events, showcasing trends, technologies, and solutions shaping the future of attractions. “IAAPA Expo Europe 2025 is the must-attend event for the wider European attractions industry,” said Jakob Wahl, IAAPA President and CEO. “It has become a vital platform where operators can discover innovations and learn from peers and experts across hospitality and attractions.”
Peter van der Schans, IAAPA Executive Director and Vice President for Europe, Middle East, and Africa, highlighted the event’s broader impact: “Spain — and Barcelona in particular — is home to a thriving tourism and leisure sector. Bringing thousands of professionals here strengthens our global network and showcases the region’s important role in shaping the industry’s future.”
