Gulliver’s Theme Park Resorts in Milton Keynes has reached an important milestone.
The park is celebrating 45 years in business.
The first Gulliver’s resort, Gulliver’s Kingdom in Matlock Bath, opened in 1978.
Meanwhile, Gulliver’s Land in Milton Keynes became the company’s third park when it opened in 1999 following Gulliver’s World, which launched in Warrington in 1989, and Rotherham’s Gulliver’s Valley, opening in 2020.
Gulliver’s Theme Park Resorts is overseen by managing director Julie Dalton, daughter of founders Ray and the late Hilary Phillips, with their son Nick Phillips, also a director.
Mrs. Dalton said: “To see how our business has grown and developed over the last 45 years is something we are so proud of here at Gulliver’s.
“As a family-run company, we can adapt quickly to the changing times, and our flexible and dynamic approach, as well as really knowing what our customers want, has been to key to this success.”
“2023 is a massive year for us and we’re so excited for what we have planned which still follows our original ethos of providing great value, family fun days out, and short breaks but also moves with the times with a more vibrant and relevant offering for today’s market.
“This includes a variety of themed accommodations across our parks, popular character appearances, a unique program for school and residential visits as well as continuous plans to further develop the theme park with new rides and attractions.
Mrs. Dalton also explained the importance of the park opening its doors during the winter season for the first time: “Gulliver’s Land had also never opened over the winter period before until this season with our hugely successful Land of Lights festival which was a major development for us. It allowed us to create more jobs for local people over a traditionally quieter period as well as provide a really unique and different offering to our customers.
“Our customers and the communities we are part of have always been at the heart of what we do and we hope they will continue to support us and come enjoy the delights that Gulliver’s offers for young and old!”
