Minecraft comes to life at Gardaland Resort

Minecraft Meet the Mobs has opened at Gardaland Resort in Italy, giving visitors the chance to meet characters from the world’s best-selling video game in person until 28 August. The limited-time attraction is exclusive to Gardaland in Italy and is running simultaneously only at Alton Towers Resort in the UK, making it one of just two European locations to host the experience.

The seasonal event transforms part of the resort into a Minecraft-themed environment where guests can meet Steve, the Creeper, the Chicken Jockey and other familiar characters. The experience also includes themed food, merchandise and interactive games designed to encourage families to explore the park together.

At the centre of the event is the Minecraft Hub, which serves as the main activity area. Visitors can take part in a programme of challenges including Mob Hunt, Zombie Freeze, Creeper Countdown and Baby Mob Footsteps before posing for photographs with the game’s iconic characters. The hub also offers Minecraft-themed snacks, including TNT Exploding Popcorn and themed ice creams, alongside official merchandise.

Across the park, guests can follow the Baby Mobs Trail, an interactive quest spread over six locations. Players collect stamps while discovering themed scenes featuring baby pandas, wolves, cats, chicks and pigs, before unlocking an exclusive in-game digital reward on completion – a pink baby axolotl hat for Minecraft.

Luisa Forestali, go to market director at Gardaland, said: “Hosting Minecraft Meet the Mobs means celebrating a universe that has become part of the lives of millions of people through a real-world experience where guests can meet their favourite mobs in person for the very first time.”

She added: “Being selected as one of only two European destinations to host the event further confirms Gardaland Resort’s position as a benchmark for internationally renowned entertainment experiences.”

The event forms part of Gardaland’s summer entertainment programme, which also includes extended opening hours under its ‘Gardaland Night is Magic’ initiative. Minecraft Meet the Mobs runs from 18 July to 28 August and is included with standard park admission.
