Holland America Line Rolling Stone rock show is the latest addition to the ship’s World Stage and reflects the company’s continued investment in original onboard productions.
Headlining the programme is Holland America Line and Rolling Stone Present, All Access: The Songs That Shaped Us. Developed by RWS Global in partnership with Rolling Stone, the production celebrates artists including The Eagles, Janis Joplin, Van Halen and Fleetwood Mac. The show builds on the success of the Rolling Stone Lounge, which already features on most of the cruise line’s ships as a live music venue.
Three additional productions have also debuted on Oosterdam. Decadence combines big band music with Hollywood-inspired staging, while Disco Fever brings classic dance anthems such as Le Freak, It’s Raining Men and I Love the Nightlife to the stage. Completing the line-up is Fosse and Verdon, The Duet That Changed Broadway, created with the Verdon Fosse Legacy. The production showcases choreography inspired by Bob Fosse and Gwen Verdon alongside previously unseen archive audio and video presented on the ship’s wraparound World Stage screen.
Joe Chantry, vice president of entertainment & enrichment for Holland America Line, said: “We listened to what our guests wanted – more visually impressive productions with incredible music and memorable performances – and these four new shows deliver that.”
Craig Laurie, chief creative officer of RWS Global, said the new production extends the appeal of the existing Rolling Stone Lounge concept into a full-scale theatrical experience featuring singers, dancers and live musicians. Rolling Stone chief executive officer Julian Holguin added that the partnership aims to bring the publication’s music heritage to audiences through an immersive live format.
The productions also underline the long-standing relationship between Holland America Line and RWS Global. The entertainment company has worked with the cruise operator for more than a decade and has developed several branded experiences, including the Rolling Stone Lounge and previous collaborations such as Lincoln Center Stage and Fosse and Verdon.
The four productions are now performing aboard Oosterdam as the ship continues its Mediterranean and long-haul itineraries before joining Holland America Line’s wider fleet modernisation programme in late 2027.
