Universal Orlando Resort will bid a fond farewell to its beloved attraction Hollywood Rip Ride Rocket.

The thrill ride is set for its final run on 18 August, as per Universal Orlando Resort.

The thrill ride will be replaced ‘for a new experience,’ according to Universal’s website.

First opening to the public in August 2009, Hollywood Rip Ride Rocket was created by German manufacturer Maurer Rides. The attraction’s novel twist is that riders can choose a song to listen to while heading skyward at a 90-degree angle and reach speeds of up to 65mph.

For 16 years, the ride has been a fan favourite and a “adrenaline pumping and music thumping,” experience as Universal noted.

The countdown is now on and a last call beckons to experience its rip-roaring ride from beginning to end.
