After 16 years of exceptional service, Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit rode its last ride this past weekend at Universal Studios Florida.

Riders were treated to a celebratory final ride onboard as well as receiving a souvenir guitar pick of the “Farewell Tour”.

Meanwhile, special wristbands were handed out to 36 guests to be a part of the final three trains for one last ride.

The coaster, which opened in 2009, was designed by the German manufacturer Maurer Rides. It quickly became a popular ride thanks to its vertical lift and allowing guests to choose their music while riding.

As one door closes, another will open; the closure of Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit paves the way for a new experience with a new roller coaster rumoured to take its place in the near future.
