IAAPA Expo Asia kicks off with sophisticated style & cultural grace

IAAPA Expo Asia 2025 is up and running as the trade show officially welcomes its first guests in Shanghai.

Thousands of professionals from around the world have gathered at the Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC) to connect the leisure industry through fascinating talks and product innovations.

Furthermore, there are more than 340 exhibitors filling an expansive trade show floor spanning over 8,500 square metres. Added to this are more than 20 education events.

The opening ceremony featured a “theatrical production rooted in Chinese philosophical themes, guiding the audience through an immersive journey of creativity, balance, and transformation,” described by IAAPA.

Jack Chan, executive director and vice president of IAAPA Asia Pacific, said: “Shanghai is an extraordinary host city, where tradition and technology coexist beautifully. IAAPA Expo Asia 2025 embraces this spirit by bringing together cultural expression, creative storytelling, and world-class innovation.

“It’s an exciting time for our industry, and this event is a launchpad for new ideas, partnerships, and progress.”

Meanwhile, IAAPA President and CEO Jakob Wahl, gave his opening speech: “IAAPA Expo Asia 2025 showcases the incredible potential of our industry to inspire, connect, and evolve. Our education sessions, show floor, and experiences are all designed to empower professionals with the tools and ideas needed to thrive in a changing world.

“Shanghai sets the stage for meaningful dialogue and bold transformation. We look forward to seeing on the wonderful relationships forged in the week ahead.”

IAAPA Expo Asia features a dynamic education program running alongside the trade show, including seminars, sold-out EDUTours, and networking events.

So Shanghai rolls out the red carpet for the latest edition of the IAAPA Expo Asia. A nourishing week awaits all through discovery, learning and showcasing the very best of the leisure industry
