Intamin performs upgrades for Amazonia to reopen at Bellewaerde

Amazonia at Bellewaerde, Belgium is now open again thanks to necessary upgrades performed by Intamin.

The water ride closed in its debut year due to maintenance issues. However, the ride has now been given an overhaul in its ride operations.

Intamin explained on its social media platform that Amazonia is “one of the most ambitious and innovative water ride projects in recent years, the next generation of Rapids Rides.

“Amazonia has officially reopened! The Intamin team worked tirelessly with Bellewaerde during the off-season to make sure the ride performs more predictably in the halfpipe section!

“We’re so excited for you to experience Amazonia again!”

Essential ride maintenance was performed in three key areas: Intamin installed an upgraded friction lining for improved performance.

The experienced ride manufacturer also implemented a guide rail at the half-pipe entrance for better control and more swings.

Finally, Intamin has created an improved water pumps for faster flows and more splashes.

The gushing water attraction can only be found in Bellewaerde Park and consists of an aquatic adventure travailing a crazy spinning lift, a gigantic halfpipe and more elements which is themed to the lush amazon forest.

“Step into your boat and brace yourself for a crazy ride full of family fun,” exclaim Bellewaerde.

And riders can once enjoy their water-filled trip to the Amazon, made in Belgium.
