Legacy Entertainment, a premier design and production studio based in Hollywood, CA, arrives at the 2024 IAAPA Expo with unparalleled momentum. Recently, the company announced two massive projects totaling over $500 million in investments, along with record-breaking performance milestones achieved by several recently launched attractions worldwide.

“With the resurgence of China’s entertainment market and our growing presence in the Middle East and Central Asia, the past few months have marked an extraordinary period of growth for Legacy,” said Eric Carnagey, Managing Director and co-owner of Legacy Entertainment.

Global Expansion and Major New Developments

  • Tashkent, Uzbekistan: Legacy is set to design The Grand Serai, Central Asia’s largest entertainment destination, in Tashkent. Spanning 287,000 square meters (70 acres), this opulent complex will feature a next-generation water park, hotel, and immersive retail promenade, drawing inspiration from Uzbekistan’s rich cultural heritage.
  • Beijing, China: Legacy won an international tender to design Beijing Haichang Ocean Park, an “Aquarium of the Future” neighboring Universal Studios Beijing. Covering over 4 hectares (10 acres) of indoor exhibits, the project will feature cutting-edge marine habitats. Construction is expected to begin by the end of 2024.

Legacy has established itself as a top aquarium design firm, with nearly $2 billion in recent aquatic projects in Vietnam and China.

Upcoming Ventures and Innovations

In addition to these high-profile projects, Legacy is developing several other unique attractions globally, including a Safari Park, Snow Park, Sports Park, and an IP-based Theme Park. The company is also exploring its first venture into the cruise industry.

Legacy’s Record-Breaking Projects

Legacy’s expertise is evident in its record-setting projects, including the Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park. Since its debut in 2018, the park has achieved milestones, recently welcoming over 4.2 million visitors in 2023 and breaking records with over 50,000 daily visitors during China’s National Day holiday in October 2024.

In Zhuhai, China, Legacy recently celebrated the anniversary of the Chimelong Spaceship, recognized with seven Guinness World Records, including the World’s Largest Indoor Theme Park and Aquarium. The facility serves as an all-weather second gate to the adjacent Chimelong Ocean Kingdom.

Another successful project, Batavia: The Floating City Mall in Jakarta, Indonesia, has been so well-received that expansion is already underway to double its size, increasing retail and dining venues from 53 to over 100.
