The attraction has expanded its line-up of Asian and international stars with the addition of Filipino actress Kathryn Bernardo, strengthening its appeal to visitors from Southeast Asia.

Madame Tussauds Hong Kong has unveiled a wax figure of Filipino actress Kathryn Bernardo, adding one of the Philippines’ most recognisable entertainment personalities to its collection. The figure will now take up permanent residence at the attraction following a public launch event in Manila before its transfer to Hong Kong.

Bernardo becomes one of the youngest Filipino celebrities to be immortalised by Madame Tussauds Hong Kong. She joins fellow Filipino personalities Manny Pacquiao, Pia Wurtzbach and Catriona Gray, while Lea Salonga is represented at Madame Tussauds Singapore. The addition reflects the attraction’s continued investment in content that resonates with visitors from across Asia.

The figure is based on measurements taken during a dedicated sitting session with Bernardo, allowing Madame Tussauds’ artists to recreate her likeness using the attraction’s traditional sculpting techniques. Guests can pose alongside the figure in an interactive setting designed to encourage photography and social media sharing, a key part of the attraction’s visitor experience.

Kathryn Bernardo said: ‘It’s a dream come true to have my own wax figure, and I’m grateful to the Madame Tussauds Hong Kong team for their trust in me. I’m excited for my fans worldwide to visit and interact with my twin, especially in Hong Kong, since it’s such a meaningful milestone for me.’

Wade Chang, general manager of Merlin Entertainments Hong Kong, said: ‘We value our Filipino market and aim to provide them with an unforgettable experience at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong. Kathryn is an inspiring artist who has worked tirelessly to achieve her success. At Madame Tussauds, we honour excellence with a global impact, making Kathryn the perfect choice for our next Filipino wax figure.’

For Merlin Entertainments, the launch continues a strategy of broadening the attraction’s regional appeal by introducing figures with strong fan followings across Asia. Alongside Hollywood stars, K-pop artists and Chinese celebrities, the addition of Bernardo strengthens Madame Tussauds Hong Kong’s position as a destination for both local visitors and international tourists, particularly those travelling from the Philippines.
