ProSlide Technology’s PowerRAPIDS makes its global debut at Aquatopia Water Park in Phu Quoc, marking the arrival of an entirely new category of water ride.
Guests at Aquatopia Water Park in Phu Quoc, Vietnam, are now the first in the world to experience PowerRAPIDS – a new category of water ride from ProSlide Technology that integrates floating river channels within a conventional slide layout. The attraction opened on 11 June 2026, coinciding with IAAPA Expo Asia in Hong Kong.
Where conventional water rides have relied on sliding throughout – delivering the speed and turns that have defined the format for decades – PowerRAPIDS integrates floating channels at multiple points along the ride path. These sections feature shallow, dynamic water that places riders in a rushing river environment before transitioning back to sliding.

PowerRAPIDS operates with a minimum height requirement of one metre. Depending on specification, it dispatches every 10 to 20 seconds, with a maximum theoretical hourly capacity of 1,440 riders. Those figures will matter to operators evaluating the attraction: throughput is a core metric in any ride procurement decision.
ProSlide’s relationship with Sun Group – the owner of Aquatopia – stretches back to 2014, when the manufacturer supplied rides for Typhoon Waterpark in Ha Long. The two companies have since worked together across multiple Vietnamese sites. The PowerRAPIDS installation represents the latest chapter in that partnership, and the first deployment of the new ride category anywhere in the world.
The timing is deliberate. Launching alongside IAAPA Expo Asia puts PowerRAPIDS directly in front of the regional operators and developers best placed to consider it for future projects. Vietnam itself has become an increasingly active market for major water park investment, with Sun Group among the developers driving that expansion.
