Merlin Entertainments is set to make waves at LEGOLAND® Florida Resort with the grand opening of SEA LIFE® Florida on May 23, 2025. This new marine attraction will provide an immersive, interactive experience featuring 25 uniquely designed exhibits, including the “Theme Park Under the Sea” concept—an exclusive theme not found in any other SEA LIFE aquarium worldwide.
The attraction will integrate imaginative LEGO®-inspired designs into its habitats, featuring vibrant coral castles, carousel hideaways, and cozy hotel-like spaces that provide a safe and stimulating environment for marine life. The main ocean tank will be a standout feature, allowing guests to explore an aquatic world where marine creatures navigate through a dynamic and engaging environment that mirrors the creativity and wonder of a theme park.
SEA LIFE Florida will showcase over 3,000 marine animals from 150 species, including blacktip reef sharks, blue-spotted stingrays, and big-belly seahorses. The attraction will include 150,000 gallons of water, an interactive freshwater gallery, a colorful stingray bay, and an invertebrate touch pool, enabling guests to engage with marine creatures up close. Each habitat is designed to reflect natural environments while integrating playful, theme park-inspired elements, ensuring a balance between education and entertainment.
SEA LIFE Florida will play an important role in marine conservation, education, and sustainability. The aquarium will work closely with SEA LIFE TRUST, the global charity dedicated to protecting oceans and marine life, to promote conservation efforts and awareness among visitors. As part of this initiative, LEGOLAND Florida Resort, PEPPA PIG Theme Park Florida, and SEA LIFE Florida will implement recyclable bags resort-wide, eliminating single-use plastic to further sustainability efforts.
Additionally, SEA LIFE Florida will emphasize educational programs and experiences designed to engage young visitors and families in marine conservation. Through interactive exhibits, informative signage, and guided experiences, guests will learn about ocean ecosystems, the importance of marine preservation, and ways to reduce their environmental footprint.
The addition of SEA LIFE Florida reinforces Merlin Entertainments’ ongoing investment in LEGOLAND Florida Resort, further diversifying its offerings beyond the theme park experience. SEA LIFE aquariums are known globally for their innovative marine habitats, and the introduction of this attraction to LEGOLAND Florida is expected to enhance guest engagement and lengthen visitor stays at the resort.
As LEGOLAND Florida continues to evolve as a multi-faceted destination, SEA LIFE Florida will serve as a key attraction for families, school groups, and marine life enthusiasts. The integration of LEGO-inspired creativity with marine education aligns with LEGOLAND’s mission of blending fun with learning, making SEA LIFE Florida a significant addition to the resort’s portfolio.
