SeaWorld San Antonio is to build a new family-style, inverted coaster, according to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation page which details key information about the ride, construction dates and estimated cost.

Codenamed ‘SWSA 2026’ the roller coaster will cover some 4,000sq ft and will be located in the vicinity of its Steel Eel and Wavebreaker attractions.

Both attractions are located on the Northeast side of the park, relatively close to Sea World Rescue Jr., the newly built kids play area that opened this year.

The coaster comes with an investment of nearly $9m. Construction will begin on Tuesday, 1 July with a scheduled finish date of 1 June, 2026, according to the report.

A full statement reads: “The project includes the addition of a new attraction: an inverted family style steel roller coaster to be installed between the existing Steel Eel and Wavebreaker rides. The ride foundations are mostly drilled concrete pier type.”
