Taman Safari Indonesia Partners with Legacy Entertainment for Major Revitalisation of Iconic Safari Park

Listen to this article

Taman Safari Indonesia, a leading operator of theme parks and safari resorts, has announced a strategic collaboration with renowned US design firm Legacy Entertainment. This partnership will focus on the redevelopment and enhancement of visitor experiences at Taman Safari Bogor, the group’s original and much-loved wildlife park, located just one hour from Jakarta.

Legacy Entertainment, acclaimed for its creative and immersive designs globally, will spearhead the master planning of innovative attractions and environments aimed at elevating visitor engagement and animal welfare standards at the park. Taman Safari Bogor, established in April 1986 on the site of a former tea plantation, quickly became one of Indonesiaโ€™s premier leisure destinations, attracting generations of visitors.

Taylor Jeffs, President and Chief Creative Officer of Legacy Entertainment, emphasized the significance of this project: “Taman Safari Bogor holds a special place in the hearts of locals and visitors alike. Our goal is to respect the legacy of this iconic park while introducing state-of-the-art, immersive attractions designed for the next generation.”

Jeffs further noted that the park’s scenic location, nestled in a lush valley near Gede Pangrango Mountain, offers extraordinary opportunities for innovative design solutions. These enhancements will not only address historical operational challenges but also introduce modern animal habitats and visually stunning, immersive experiences.

Distinctively, Legacy Entertainment plans to move away from the conventional international theming common in zoos and safari parks. Instead, the new designs will put the spotlight firmly on the animals themselves, employing advanced storytelling techniques and creating habitats that reflect and celebrate the wildlife authentically.

Taman Safari Indonesia, renowned globally for its conservation efforts, operates eight parks and four resorts across Indonesia, housing over 9,325 animals from 409 species. The organization is recognized for rescuing and rehabilitating thousands of animals, contributing significantly to wildlife conservation and earning numerous national and international awards.

More detailed plans and project timelines for the revitalization of Taman Safari Bogor will be released later this year.
