Yas Waterworld Yas Island, Abu Dhabi will launch ‘Al Falaj Race,’ the region’s first side-by-side duelling tube raft ride.
The aquatic attraction takes its place as part of an eagerly anticipated expansion of more than 20 new rides, slides, and experiences across a new themed zone called the “Lost City”.
The new area is developed by Miral and covers 13,445 sqm. This expansion means Yas Waterworld serves up more than 60 attractions.
Other new attractions in the Lost City include Bahamut’s Rage, a high-thrill log flume adventure, Al Mafras, a desert-themed water slide with twists and splash landings and Red Dunes – a closed aqua tube for high-speed thrills.
Meanwhile there is also Al Sahel Junior – the region’s first mini zero-gravity boomerang, Dawwama Junior – a child-friendly version of the park’s tornado slide and Bandit’s Playground – an interactive splash zone inside the new Bandit’s Village.
Moreover, the Lost City theme continues the park’s original story, ‘The Legend of the Lost Pearl’, fully reimagined with hidden treasures and secret passageways.
“These new rides transform water-based entertainment in the region,” said Dr. Mohamed Abdalla Al Zaabi, Group CEO of Miral.
“They support our goal of positioning Yas Island as a world-class entertainment and tourism destination.”
The Lost City at Yas Waterworld will welcome its first guests on 1 July in time for the summer season.
