A new, 1,000-acre theme park project has been earmarked for development in Agra, northern India.

According to the Times of India, officials said the land has been acquired, and the project has already received ‘no-objection certificates’ from various departments, including the Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board (UPPCB) and the state irrigation department.

The Uttar Pradesh government is planning to develop the theme park project in collaboration with Bollywood actor Sanjay Khan.

“Almost 98% of the land has been acquired, and a notification has already been issued. The master plan of the project is also ready,” a spokesman for the project told the Times of India.

“A workshop will be organised in April, where investors and financiers from across the world would be invited. The next step would be issuance of tenders and starting the work.”
