The next installment of the Monopoly immersive experience will head down to Melbourne, Hasbro has confirmed.

The park will cost £10.6m and is scheduled to open in September 2023.

The Monopoly experience will cover a vast area of 1650-sq.m and will be located in the hub of Melbourne Central.

“The keys to Monopoly City and Mr. Monopoly’s Mansion are due for handover in September 2023,” said Mark Connolly, general manager of Monopoly Dreams Melbourne. 

“We are excited to be able to officially give Aussies an opening day for the most anticipated attraction of 2023.”

Monopoly will put its stamp on Melbourne featuring historic and cultural references of the city such as its trams and street art. Overall, there will be 15 attractions for guests to secure.

Guests immersing themselves in the attraction can win Monopoly money which will then go towards purchases at the park’s café or shop.

Monopoly is one of the world’s most cherished board games and its makers Hasbro has branched out in recent years to take gaming to the next level with real-life board game experiences. The likes of London, Riyadh and Hong Kong have all been illuminated by the Monopoly experience with the next port of call being Melbourne.

The next chapter of board gaming comes to fruition in the sporting capital of the world that is Melbourne.
