Bandai Namco Entertainment will open the largest virtual reality (VR) entertainment facility in Japan on July 14.

VR Zone Shinjuku will house more than 15 activities, utilising various high-profile IPs, including Dragon Ball, Evangelion and Mario Kart.

The Tokyo facility will also include a wide range of new non-licensed VR activities where guests will be able to experience exploring a fantasy world on a winged bicycle, a horror-filled dinosaur survival run, and more.

VR Zone Shinjuku will build on the success of its predecessor, VR Zone Project I Can, which is located in the Tokyo ward of Koto.

According to Yoshiyasu Horiuchi, executive officer for Bandai Namco’s amusement segment, the company plans to install a selection of its VR activities in more than 20 locations worldwide.

“VR Zone Shinjuku will be the flagship location for the next-generation of entertainment,” Yoshiyasu Horiuchi said.
