Listen to this article

The leisure complex and theme park brand PortAventura is to invest 11 million euros to significantly expand its Convention Centre in Tarragona, Spain.

The expansion will extend the venue by an additional 6,000 square metres, taking the site to a total of 20,000 square metres with 24 rooms. The extended centre will be able to accommodate up to 6,000 visitors.

The developed Convention Centre will have a new room, known as the Sala Roma, which can be separated into three different sections. The new room will have a total area of 2,110 square metres and a capacity of over 2,000.

The extended building is to be designed so that it blends into the landscape. It will feature natural lighting, with Mediterranean-style gardens looking out towards the venue’s golf courses and the sea.

Like the existing PortAventura Convention Centre, the extension will provide full access to visitors with reduced mobility.

The expansion is due to begin in November 2019.
