Princess Cruises debuts new waterpark on board the Princess Caribbean cruise ship

The cruise line operator Princess Cruises has announced the Grand Class cruise ship, MS Caribbean Princess, is to feature a family-friendly waterpark.

The Reef Family Splash Zone onboard the mighty vessel will comprise of a fun, interactive area designed for children and adults.

One of the main features of the Splash Zone is the Splashpad with Whale, an interactive water playground, with a splash pool, water sprays and a whale that spurts ‘rain’ from its fluke.

The cruise ship’s waterpark will also feature a Game Zone, with oversized backyard games, a child-friendly bar area, comfortable lounge sections, and a cocktail bar for the adults.

The ship’s existing pool, spa and bar area are to be updated to complement the newly-designed waterpark space. Close to the bar area will be a destination-themed water table, where kids can interact and explore inspiring destinations and iconic landmarks around the world, such as the Sydney Opera House and Golden Gate Bridge.

Jan Swartz, Princess Cruises president, spoke about the newly-refurbed Caribbean Princess.

“In our latest effort to enhance our family offerings, this newly reimagined space invites families and kids to experience a multi-functional area to engage, play and reconnect.

“The Reef is the ultimate spot for families of all ages to enjoy spending time together with new water features, recreational activities and lounge areas.”

The Caribbean Princess will emerge from her drydock in June 2019, ready for summer-long, family-friendly cruises.
