PortAventura World has officially opened its new Hotel Colorado Creek, an eco-friendly hotel that emits zero emissions.
The popular family-friendly amusement park resort is involved with the Climate Action goal of the Sustainable Development Goals.
Being PortAventura World’s first zero-emissions hotel, Colorado Creek is in line with the attraction resort’s strategy to minimise its carbon footprint by developing sustainable leisure facilities.
The premium four-star hotel boasts architecture and theming inspired by the Far West gold rush that replicates the luxury ranches of the United States’ Rock Greek.
Guests staying at the luxury hotel can enjoy a fully immersive experience and an ornate décor, featuring natural wood, large windows and a chromatic palette of browns, reds and ochres.
The natural wood used in the hotel is PEFC-certified, meaning the material guarantees the responsible management of forests.
Natural vegetation is a theme that runs throughout the hotel, inspired by the forests of Colorado.
Fernando Aldecoa, managing director of PortAventura World, spoke of the opening of the hotel, which officially opened its doors on June 1, 2019.
“With the opening of Hotel Colorado Creek, a new benchmark for the resort’s hotel offer, PortAventura World continues to strengthen its leadership in Europe’s leisure and family holiday sector, developing a concept of holiday leisure that focuses on sustainability,” said Aldecoa.
Hotel Colorado Creek has 150 bedrooms and the project cost 25 million euros.
