The Sesame Street: Street Mission dark ride experience at PortAventura World in Spain has received a Thea Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Attractions category.

The accolade was given by the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA). Thea Awards represent the very best in the entertainment industry from around the world.

Sesame Street: Street Mission has proven highly popular at PortAventura World. The dark ride lasts for six minutes and is housed in a 14,000 sq. ft. building which has been custom designed. This one-of-a-kind dark ride integrates Sesame Street’s much-loved characters and the brand’s well-known settings with mixed-media and interactive elements. The ride takes guests on a journey with Detective Grover to recover the missing Big Cookie for the Cookie Day Parade.

The dark ride attraction was designed by Sally Dark Rides, which worked alongside partners at Sesame Workshop and the Jim Henson Creature Shop.
