North Germany’s Hansa-Park is to introduce the country’s tallest drop tower for 2019. The 120-metre Highlander attraction will also be the tallest freefall ride of its kind in the world to incorporate tilting seats.

Built by the Austrian manufacturer Funtime, which previously supplied the park’s Star Flyer ride, it is expected to gain approval from the TÜV South inspection body. The ride will feature a ring of 24 seats and a dropping distance of 103m. During their fall, passengers will reach a top speed 120km/h.

The ride’s theme will be inspired by a Scottish legend and located in a new era of the park called “Enchanting Britain”, which will also integrate the existing Nessie rollercoaster. A special Highlander soundtrack is being composed for the attraction by Andreas Kübler and Sebastian Kübler of IMAscore.
