The much-loved British animated children’s TV series Shaun the Sheep now has a presence in Japan with the opening of a new attraction in Tawada – the Shaun the Sheep Farm Garden.

The 5,000 square metre farm site has opened in the English garden themed area of Tawada. It was created as a collaboration between the multi-award-winning, Bristol-based studio Aardman and the consolidated visual production company Tohokushinsha Film Company.

With life-sized replicas sets of the well-known world of Shaun the Sheep and statues of Shaun and his loveable friends including the Farmer and Bitzer, the new farm attraction is designed for family fun.

The site also features a café with an outdoor terrace and a multipurpose facility that can host events and exhibitions to augment the experience for everyone visiting the site. There is also a gift shop at the Shaun the Sheep Farm, offering a comprehensive range of official Shaun the Sheep merchandise.

Ngaio Harding-Hill, head of attractions and live experiences at Aardman, spoke about the opening of the new attraction.

“We are thrilled to celebrate the opening of the Shaun the Sheep Farm Garden at The English Garden Rosa & Berry Tawada, Japan, which offers visitors an exciting world first – the opportunity to experience a life-sized recreation of Mossy Bottom Farm, set in the stunning countryside of the Shiga Prefecture,” Harding-Hill commented.
