Oriental Land Co, owner of Tokyo Disney Resort, plans to build a family-friendly hotel based on the Toy Story films, opening in the fiscal year* 2021.

Everything in the approximately 600 room property – from the hotel exterior to the spacious gardens – will be made to look like it is made of toys.

The guest rooms will be inspired by Andy’s bedroom, where Woody, Buzz Lightyear and all the other toys live in the animated Pixar movies. The rooms will be designed with colourful furniture and other features to immerse families in the world of Toy Story. Hotel amenities will include a restaurant.

Oriental Land is planning to open new areas at Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea in 2020 and 2022 respectively. With this new hotel, the aim is to offer guests a casual resort stay at a reasonable price, and provide them with a richer Disney experience.

*The fiscal year at Tokyo Disney Resort runs from April 1 to March 31.
