The organisers of the Visitor Attraction Expo (VAE), which takes place in London on January 13-15, have revealed details of a comprehensive seminar and education programme.

Commenting on the programme content, organiser Karen Cooke explained: "Visitors to both VAE and EAG International will be treated to an impressive array of products and services for the amusements and attractions sector with history confirming that a lot of business will be done.

"We firmly believe, however, that the shows should also deliver a forum for the sharing of ideas, experiences and initiatives," Cooke added. "The programme has been carefully designed to appeal to the wider leisure community, featuring talented presenters who are at the top of their game and really know our industry well.

Organised by industry trade body, the British Association of Leisure Parks, Piers and Attractions, each seminar will address a current hot issue, with the focus on risk reduction and business development.

Robert Kluth, director of the leisure division of Lorica Insurance, will be opening proceedings by charting a course through the minefields of the Ministry of Justice's liability claims portal and the HSE Fee for Intervention.

Increasingly, leisure businesses are turning to mystery shoppers as a tool for achieving exceptional customer service. In a revealing presentation, Jonathan Winchester of Shoppers Anonymous will deliver an insight into this secret world.

In addition, Picsolve's global business development director, Baz Slatter, will be taking a close look at consumer behaviour in, while Scott Brown, director of business development for We Do Digital (WDD), will be presenting sessions on social media and customer service.
