Etisalat Eye of the Emirates – one of the premier landmarks in the emirate of Sharjah and the highest Ferris wheel in the region – has witnessed a marked increase in the number of visitors to over 59,000 in the first half of 2013, as compared to the 54,000 visitors reported in the corresponding period in 2012.

The 60m high wheel gives visitors an aerial view of the Emirate's tourist landmarks and the surrounding landscape – including parts of Dubai and the Gulf Coast – from its 42 air-conditioned cabins.

"Etisalat Eye of the Emirates Wheel is one of the most prominent tourist landmarks in Sharjah and the Emirates," said Sultan Mohamed Shattaf, Al Qasba manager.

"The Ferris wheel is recording an annual growth in number of visitors since its opening to public. It is also attracting more residents and tourists excited to take a panoramic view of the magnificent cultural and tourism attractions in Sharjah from a height of 60m."
