VRstudios, a leading provider of virtual reality (VR) solutions for location-based entertainment, has announced the release of the VRcade Arena system and Attraction Management Platform software.

Designed for turnkey installation and operation, and leveraging patent pending technology, the VRcade Arena is pegged as the a “warehouse-scale virtual reality platform”, providing multiplayer capabilities that allows up to eight simultaneous users to interact with each other as they participate in a new generation of full-motion, immersive and competitive gaming experiences.

The VRcade Arena is built on VRstudios’ Attraction Management Platform (AMP).

The platform enables easy installation and efficient operations including support of essential day-to-day functions required by the facilities’ technicians, operators, and managers.

Using role-specific login access, AMP gives businesses and individuals the tools they need to easily operate their VR attraction, manage hardware, software, user profiles and content, gather important data and analytics and view valuable operational reports.

The VRcade Arena has been specifically designed for commercial entertainment destinations, such as theme and amusement parks, family entertainment centres, cinemas and casinos.

“From our 40+ VRcade systems installed around the world, we have learned what it takes to build and manage an arena-class product that can push the limits and best practices of the growing LBE industry,” said Dave Ruddell, VRstudios’ co-founder and chief architect.

“The VRcade Arena enables an exciting new level of immersive out-of-home experiences for everyone, from casual VR enthusiasts to serious eSports competitors.”

The VRcade Arena content strategy includes new VRcade branded titles along with third-party titles developed through licensing and co-production agreements.

US-based VRstudios is currently planning a catalogue of gaming experiences for the VRcade Arena that will provide access to fully-immersive VR experiences.

The system will ship with content specifically designed to leverage the unique features that can only be experienced in a location-based arena-scale system.
