Splayshway Waterpark in Sheridan, Texas, is embarking on an expansion drive, with plans including the installation of a 30,000sq.ft wave pool.

With the added attraction, the waterpark will double in size to span about 10 acres, Splashway spokesman Matt Tice said, noting that the wave pool will give guests the best value for their money.

The wave pool will have a shallow end and go as deep as 6ft. It will include rolling and diamond pattern waves with sound warnings to alert guests in the pool.

The park, which draws thousands of visitors from throughout Texas each month, said it will be open for weekends in May and daily during the summer of 2015 until September.
