More than 150 theme park representatives, experts and suppliers attended the 2017 Asia Attractions Golden Crown Awards ceremony presented recently by Asia Attractions in Shanghai.

Winners were recognised in a total of 16 categories for both operators and suppliers. The glittering ceremony and formal dinner was staged at the Sheraton Shanghai Hotel & Residences in the Pudong district of the city on October 19. Asia Attractions is the leading business magazine for the amusement industry in China and a sister publication to Interpark.

Among the high-profile guests, Chinese theme park industry expert Zhu Xing attended the evening, along with Zhong Zinfu from Prominent Technology Enterprise and CAAPA’s water attractions committee, Zheng Wei of CCIA Cultural Tourism Development, Liu Yuzheng from Huayi Brothers Real Scene Entertainment, Ge Shiwei of Shanghai Jinjiang Amusement Park, Wu Chunlai from Suzhou Park, Li Pengwei of BRC Cultural Tourism Group, He Lin from Aoyuan Cultural Tourism, Lin Huanjie from the Institute for Theme Park Studies in China, Fang Long of Chengdu Aqua Magic, Wu Liubing from Changzhou Dinoland, Li Yanchan of Winsing Animation Group Park, and Shang Lishuang from World Carnival Amusement Park.

“As an active member of the amusement and attractions industry, we hope the awards will promote the healthy development of excellent, high-quality Chinese companies,” said Asia Attractions’ chief editor Zhang Li. “In turn this can encourage a healthy industry.”

All of the companies included on the awards shortlist had projects operating in China from 2016 to June 2017. More than 100 Chinese and 50 foreign firms competed in three rounds of voting. The first round saw Chinese parks nominate companies and suppliers for inclusion, the second round came in the form of voting via WeChat, while the third round saw industry experts cast the final vote. The 2018 Asia Attractions Golden Crown Outstanding Suppliers & Parks Awards will launch this coming June.
