Severn Lamb have recently finished their latest commission with Dreamworld Theme Park, Queensland, Australia.

Restoration work has taken place on the Dreamworld Express, which first opened to the public on the 15 December, 1981.

Severn Lamb provided their services and manufacturing experience to assist Dreamworld with the refurbishment work.

For authenticity, Severn Lamb ‘respected the heritage look and feel of their previous locomotive and carriage configuration through tried and tested Lincoln carriages to fulfil their requirements.’

The beloved train has taken millions of guests on-board, which sets off on its journey from Central Station platform.

Severn Lamb commented on the timescale of the refurbishment work, explaining ‘with a tight deadline in place, we needed to have everything completed for the grand opening in conjunction with the summer season. As Dreamworld continued with their own, station, track and loco refurbishments we completed the manufacture and delivery of three heritage style carriages in just 3 months!’

Severn Lamb state that the new carriages are in keeping with the nostalgic look and feel associated with the Dreamworld Express and underneath they consist of their latest chassis technology, running gear and safety features.

The new carriages have fitted remote locking carriage doors, a modern PA and lighting systems alongside CCTV and the associated monitoring interface. The carriages can also carry more passengers with up to 36 passengers per carriage, which gives further improvements for wheelchair accessibility.

The service is now in operation to the public. More information can be found on the Severn Lamb website: www.severn-lamb.com
