Dollywood theme park in Tennessee, US, cut the ribbon on its latest attraction, Drop Line, on May 6.

The 230ft-tall free-fall experience lifts guests more than 20 storeys above Dollywood’s Timber Canyon.

As it ascends, the ride’s gondola slowly spins around the tower, providing guests with a bird’s eye view of the Great Smoky Mountains, before dropping them back to the ground.

“Drop Line is the perfect new attraction for Dollywood,” said the park’s general manager, Gene Scherrer. “We have a number of unique rides, but this one is unlike anything else here.”

Dollywood is due to expand further over the coming weeks, when it opens Whistle Punk Chaser, a junior wooden coaster, adjacent to the new Drop Line attraction.
