On May 21, Europa-Park opened its doors to the summer 2021 season. The reopening of Germany’s largest theme park was made possible due to the local government of Ortenaukreis alongside the Ministry for Social Affairs of Baden-Württemberg county agreeing to making Europa-Park a model project for reopening.

During a digital press conference that was streamed live, the Mack family, who own Europa-Park, shared information about the comprehensive hygiene programme at the theme park, as well as the new attractions.

Roland Mack commented: “We are incredibly happy about the approval to be a model project and cannot wait, to finally welcome guests again after such a long time. We have already proven last year, that it is possible to safely operate the entire resort, including hotels, restaurants, the water world Rulantica and YULLBE, with comprehensive hygiene regulations.

“More than 2 million people have visited the Europa-Park Theme Park and Resort in 2020. We are aware of the responsibility, but we are likewise confident that we can operate safely,” Mack added.
