Norwegian amusement park TusenFryd announced early in 2022 a £21.5m (250 million Norwegian kroner) investment package to transform into a modern leisure facility in the coming years.

And this month, the facility, operated by Parques Reunidos, have unveiled plans for its highest-ever investment in a single attraction with the park confirming a new roller coaster in the shape of ‘Storm – The Dragon Legend’.

It will be the first installation of a suspended triple launch coaster by Gerstlauer and is slated to open in April 2023.

Almost ten million euros (£8.6m) are being invested in the creation of the new coaster.

Plans are already afoot with the supports and track elements arriving at the construction site. According to the amusement park, the technical work is scheduled to start in November and continue throughout the winter months, so that the new ride will be ready for guests by spring 2023.

“We are really looking forward to seeing it take shape, but most of all to letting the public to experience it from next season. Compared to other parks in Northern Europe, we now have a respectable selection of roller coasters. With the new attraction, we are joining the absolute top tier on the continent, and we are really looking forward to the public’s reactions to the new course being launched in our 35th season,” says Bjørn Håvard Solli, CEO of Tusenfryd.

With the opening of Storm – The Dragon Legend”, the park will have a total of eight coasters.
