Located in Portland, Oregon, Oaks Amusement Park launched a brand new rollercoaster last Saturday, March 24. Adrenaline Peak is a Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter featuring a 72 feet tall (22m) beyond-vertical first drop and three inversions.

“This is a major step for our park,” says interim Oaks CEO, George Kolibaba, adding that the new ride enjoyed a successful implementation. “The success was due to many people’s hard work and commitment. We met our opening date, even with marginal weather. It was a true success. The site preparation was key.”

“This Euro-Fighter was a fantastic project and in many ways took us back to our roots,” adds Siegfried Gerstlauer, managing director of German manufacturer Gerstlauer Amusement Rides. “Our company began making unique, marketable rollercoasters for small parks and Adrenaline Peak certainly fits that bill.”

The brightly-painted ride, which replaces a Pinfari looping coaster and is now the only large rollercoaster at the park, has already captured the attention of Oregonians. That super steep (97°) first drop stops many in their tracks. Those that step on the 1,049ft-long (320m) ride can also enjoy elements including a vertical loop, cutback and heartline roll. The top speed is 45mph (72.5km/h).

“With its traditional rides and unique roller skating rink, Oaks is what we think of as a classic American amusement park,” notes Adam Sandy of Ride Entertainment, Gerstlauer’s North American representative. “Adrenaline Peak provides a new anchor for the property and a marketable asset that will be a draw for decades.”
