Dubai is preparing to break a new record when it launches the world’s longest zipline in December.

The Fly Emirates-branded attraction will extend from the 6,000ft-high Jebel Jais mountain.

A cantilevered launch platform featuring a partially clear floor will rises more than 60 stories from the ground. Adventurers will latch onto two side-by-side zip lines – the better to fly in tandem with family or friends – for the ride.

The zipline’s developers are being coy for now about its exact length, but they say it will be longer than the current Guinness World Record-holder, which comes in at 7,200ft.
