A new augmented reality (AR) mobile game has been unveiled inspired by J.K Rowling’s world of Harry Potter.

The Harry Potter: Wizards Unite immersive AR mobile game has been developed by Pokémon Go developers’ Niantic, in collaboration with Warner Bros’ Portkey Games.

The AR mobile game involves players – the wizards and witches – journeying through magical, Harry Potter-inspired worlds, meeting strange creatures, artefacts and memories.

The players are recruits of the Secrecy Task Force, which has been established by the International Confederation of Wizards and the Ministry of Magic in order to solve a mystery known as ‘The Calamity.’

As the wizards and witches cast spells, they will zap Spell Energy, which can be replenished at the Inns they pass on their voyage. Players will need to brew potions and team up with other witches and wizards to find and defeat the evil Dementors and Death Eaters.

Portkeys will also be a key feature of the game, which enable players to be transported to well-known Harry Potter venues, including Ollivander’s Wand Shop.

This advanced VR immersive game will be released later in 2019. Players can sign up for Harry Potter: Wizards Unite at WizardsUnite.com.
