Farewell Spidey: Universal to remove Spider-Man in Japan

Listen to this article

Universal Studios Japan say farewell to The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man attraction after a successful 20 years run.

The closure is due to the expiry of the rights towards the Marvel character, which were contracted for 20 years at the Osaka based theme park.

It is expected that Disney, who now own the rights to the Spider-Man character as well as other Marvel characters, will include them at Tokyo Disneyland or Tokyo DisneySea.

Universal Studios are currently focussed on the arrival of Donkey Kong Country expansion joining Super Nintendo World land this year.
