Widely regarded as the greatest motor racing driver of all time, Ayrton Senna has been acknowledged with Lego creating an F1 car model.
Lego has released a new Lego Icons set paying homage to the man and his machine.
Fans of Formula One and Senna, who was crowned World Champion three times while driving the McLaren MP4/4, can now enjoy building this iconic and championship car.
Developed in partnership with McLaren and the Senna brand, the in-scale replica of the McLaren MP4/4 features a host of design details reminiscent of the 1988 original with which Senna claimed his first World Champion title. These include the authentic white-and-red livery, and the branding found on the real-life model
In addition, the Lego-reimagined McLaren MP4/4 is equipped with a detailed, turbocharged V6 engine. There are also working steering, rod suspension, an adjustable rear wing, and slick tires. It remains the most successful F1 race car, with a win percentage of 93.8%.
The Lego F1 car is made up of 693 pieces, measures five inches tall, six-and-a-half inches wide, and 12.5 inches long.
The set also includes a minifigure of Ayrton Senna, dressed in his racing suit. There are also accessories of a racing helmet and his trophy.
In addition, you can place the Senna minifigure on a podium-style display stand, which comes with an information plaque. The latter features a photo of Senna and his iconic quote, “No matter what your dream is, you have to dedicate yourself entirely to it.”
