TeamSports Karting has announced that its Warrington-based track, one of the longest in the UK, will feature electric karts courtesy of state-of-the-art BIZ GT model karts.
Making the transition from petrol karts represents numerous advantages for the Warrington site. It will be a game-changer in the world of go-karting due to being predominantly more environmentally friendly.
TeamSports elaborated: “This transformation not only addresses environmental concerns but also unlocks a world of exhilarating possibilities for karting enthusiasts.
“Gone are the days of noxious fumes and the lingering smell of petrol. Now, visitors can enjoy a clean and eco-friendly racing environment without compromising on speed or excitement.”
Another new feature is the introduction of a dynamic Boost Button, akin to the DRS system in Formula 1. Racers will have the thrill of activating this boost for a few precious seconds per lap.
The venue reopened on 16 October and racers can continue to enjoy its 1000-meter track.
Dom Gaynor, chief executive of Teamsport, said: “We are excited to usher in a new era of go-karting with our electrifying transformation here at the Warrington track. Our commitment to sustainability, innovation, and providing an unforgettable racing experience has driven this change.”
Other facilities which have been given a makeover are building a new spectator area and bar for families and friends to enjoy the ‘electric’ atmosphere.
In early November, additional activities such as Teamsport Lanes (Duckpin bowling) and arcades will be added.
