SBF-VISA Group has introduced Hyperdrive, a new thrill ride created specifically for the travelling amusement market. The trailer-mounted attraction joins the Italian manufacturer’s latest range of ride proposals and has been designed to balance compact transport requirements with a high-energy ride experience.
Unlike many fixed-installation thrill rides, Hyperdrive is intended for operators who move between fairs and events throughout the season. The ride occupies a footprint of 13 x 14 metres, reaches 11 metres in height and accommodates 16 riders per cycle. SBF estimates an hourly throughput of around 320 passengers, with the ride operating at speeds of up to 15 rpm.
The attraction features a rotating circular gondola mounted on a single arm, combining multiple axes of motion within a relatively compact layout. Its trailer-mounted design aims to simplify transport and installation while giving travelling showmen access to a modern thrill ride that can fit into a broad range of fairground sites.
The first Hyperdrive installation has already been secured by German showman Manuel Zinnecker. The attraction, named Crazy Roulette, carries a casino-inspired theme and made its debut during the Steinert-Kirmes in Lüdenscheid earlier this year. Industry reports identify it as the first operating example of the new Hyperdrive model.
