Visitor numbers dwindle at Belgium attractions

Listen to this article

Belgium’s duo of attractions, Mini Europe and Atomium, have seen dwindling visitor numbers over the summer.

Mini Europe, an amusement park featuring miniature decorative buildings across Europe, has seen a 9% year-on-year drop from the month of July and a 5% decrease in August.

The drop in numbers has been attributed to “major sporting events held in Europe, summer festivals, and political uncertainties in France and Belgium.”

A park spokesperson at Mini Europe confirmed that they were “overall positive” with the visitor figures knowing the external factors and that its new attractions unveiled over the summer were “greatly appreciated” by guests.

Meanwhile, the Atomium welcomed 188,000 visitors over the summer, a small proportion less than the 190,000 visitor figures from 2023 season.
